The Chase by Janet Evanovich & Lee Goldberg

Full review on my blog
The Chase by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg is the second installment of the Fox & O’Hare Series. Having not read the first book in this series let me say that this book can be a stand-alone. The book starts with a good intro of the characters. You are given enough background so that you get a very good idea of who these people are, their previous history together and their catching the bad guy mission for this book.
In The Chase, Kate, a kick-ass FBI Special Agent and Nick Fox, a professional thief work together to bring down Carter Grove, a former Chief of Staff at the White House, who has managed to get ahold of an ancient 20 million dollar Chinese Rooster head, one of the 12 bronze animal heads from a century-old Zodiac fountain in the Imperial Gardens in Beijing. This rooster head has been secretly stolen from the Smithsonian, who has to give it back to the Chinese government. So Kate and Nick must steal it back before an international crisis explodes.
The Chase is fun and action packed. Kate and Nick make a great duo. The chemistry and sexual tension between them is on the rooftop! They also complement each other very well, Kate with all her FBI knowledge and contacts, and Nick with his underground thief skills and contacts too.
The Chase ends with a flare. I enjoyed this book. It is filled with mystery, comedy, action, adventure and romance. It’s an entertaining fast-paced read. I can picture this book and the rest of the series on a movie or TV show. This can be a good summer read for men and women. I’m looking forward to more books in this series.
